Job Description
Join Google’s innovative AI team as a Remote Developer (Scribe) and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the United States, with a preference for candidates in the California time zone. You will be instrumental in refining and enhancing large language models and other AI systems by providing crucial data annotations, developing tooling, and contributing to the algorithmic improvements that power Google’s cutting-edge AI products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for working with complex data and advanced technology. You will work closely with AI researchers, engineers, and product managers to ensure the quality, accuracy, and ethical alignment of our AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality data annotation and 'scribing' to improve AI model performance and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain internal tools and scripts to streamline data processing, annotation workflows, and model evaluation.
- Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to understand model limitations and propose data-driven solutions.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of evaluation metrics and benchmarks for AI systems.
- Identify and document patterns, biases, and areas for improvement within AI model outputs.
- Participate in regular team meetings, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing.
- Ensure data privacy and security best practices are adhered to in all tasks.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
- Experience with data annotation, data labeling, or data quality assurance processes.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of basic machine learning concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience with large language models or other generative AI systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
- Experience in natural language processing (NLP) tasks or computational linguistics.
- Previous experience in developing tools or automation for data-intensive projects.
- Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
