Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Hotel Porter to join our dynamic team at Malmaison Dundee. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and seamless experience from arrival to departure. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting guests with luggage, parking vehicles, providing information, and ensuring the lobby and entrance areas are always presentable. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and departure with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Assist guests with luggage handling to and from their rooms.
- Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles as required, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
- Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby, entrance, and designated areas.
- Deliver messages, parcels, and amenities to guest rooms promptly.
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries efficiently and courteously.
- Assist other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of local area attractions and directions.
- Valid UK driving license (desirable but not essential for all tasks).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role.
- Experience with valet parking procedures.
- Knowledge of hotel operating systems.
- Ability to converse in multiple languages.
