Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Agricultural Tally Assistant to join our operations in Reading. This role is crucial for maintaining the high accuracy of our agricultural data and ensuring efficient picking processes within our facilities. You will be responsible for meticulously recording incoming and outgoing produce, verifying quantities, and assisting with inventory management to support our production lines. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to data integrity in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record and tally agricultural produce, materials, and goods received and dispatched.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain precise inventory records.
- Assist with the picking and preparation of produce orders for various departments, ensuring correct quantities and quality.
- Utilise internal tracking systems and handheld devices for data entry and verification.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards within the agricultural and warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operational flow and meet daily targets.
Required Skills

- Basic proficiency in using computer systems for data entry.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a tally, inventory, or data entry role, preferably within an agricultural, food production, or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or handheld scanning devices.
- Forklift operation certification (FLT) – desirable but not essential.
- Basic understanding of agricultural produce handling and quality standards.
