Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shopify Expert Consultant to join our dynamic, remote team. This is a critical contract role for a seasoned professional passionate about Shopify, e-commerce strategy, and delivering top-tier solutions. You will be instrumental in guiding our clients through complex Shopify challenges, from initial setup and custom theme development to advanced app integrations, performance optimization, and strategic growth. This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work and a high hourly rate, reflecting the specialized expertise required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and strategic guidance to clients on all aspects of the Shopify platform.
- Lead the planning, development, and customization of Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate and configure third-party applications and APIs to extend Shopify functionality.
- Perform comprehensive site audits to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies (speed, UX, conversion).
- Implement SEO best practices within Shopify stores to improve organic search visibility.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Shopify themes, apps, and general platform functionality.
- Stay abreast of the latest Shopify updates, e-commerce trends, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise with the Shopify platform (Shopify and Shopify Plus).
- Deep knowledge of Liquid templating language.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify API integrations.
- Understanding of e-commerce UX/UI best practices and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a digital agency environment.
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) for Shopify headless implementations.
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing principles.
- Shopify Partner Certification or relevant e-commerce certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
