Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Translation Verifier with a strong linguistic background to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, correcting, and improving the quality of machine-translated content across various subject matters and language pairs. This is a crucial role in enhancing our language AI solutions and ensuring the highest standards of linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and edit machine-translated content for grammatical errors, stylistic inconsistencies, and factual inaccuracies.
- Assess the fluency, adequacy, and overall quality of machine translation output.
- Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback to improve MT engine performance.
- Identify and categorize common MT error patterns.
- Collaborate with linguists, project managers, and engineers to refine translation quality guidelines.
- Adhere to project-specific style guides, glossaries, and quality standards.
- Participate in calibration and training sessions to maintain consistent quality.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in at least two languages (one must be English).
- Exceptional grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills in all working languages.
- Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, cultural contexts, and localization best practices.
- Proficiency in using CAT tools and translation memory software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle translation errors.
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup for remote work.
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Modern Languages, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Translation Studies, Computational Linguistics, or related.
- Experience with machine translation post-editing (MTPE).
- Familiarity with various MT engines and their output characteristics.
- Experience in quality assurance for localization projects.
- Ability to work with technical, marketing, or legal content.
