Job Description

UPS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Maintenance Technician with a strong focus on electrical systems and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) to join our team in Henderson, Nevada. This stable full-time position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of building infrastructure, systems, and equipment, with an emphasis on electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and HVAC maintenance. You will play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly, contributing to a safe and productive work environment for all UPS employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, control panels, and backup generators.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in a timely and safe manner, adhering to all codes and safety standards.
  • Execute maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration units.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building components and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and service histories.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance with a strong electrical and HVAC background.
  • Proven expertise in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and installation (e.g., motor controls, lighting, power circuits).
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, including refrigeration cycles, air balancing, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools common to the electrical and HVAC trades.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Type I, II, and III).
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • Experience working in a warehouse or logistics facility environment.
