Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Multi-Drop Delivery Drivers to join our dynamic team based in Mitcham, Greater London. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for a flexible role with weekly pay and a company van provided. As a key part of our operations, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe delivery of parcels to our customers across designated routes in the Merton borough and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on timely and friendly service, and you will be at the forefront of representing DPD.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload parcels from the delivery van.
- Safely and courteously deliver parcels to residential and business customers on a multi-drop route.
- Navigate designated routes efficiently using provided routing software and GPS.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the security of parcels and the company vehicle at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Complete delivery documentation and record delivery statuses accurately using handheld scanners.
- Communicate any delivery issues or delays promptly to the depot team.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness of the company van.
Required Skills
- A full, valid UK driving license with no more than 6 points (category B).
- Proven ability to drive safely and confidently.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Merton borough and surrounding London areas, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, 'can-do' attitude and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to handle parcels of varying sizes and weights (up to 25kg).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in multi-drop delivery or courier services is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices and delivery software.
