Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Natural Products Chemist to join our innovative R&D team. This is a fully remote position focused on the research, development, and analysis of herbal and supplement products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of natural product chemistry, botanical extracts, and dietary supplement regulations. You will play a crucial role in identifying new ingredients, developing novel formulations, and ensuring the quality and efficacy of our cutting-edge wellness portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on natural products, botanical ingredients, and their bioactive compounds for new product development.
- Design and execute experiments for the extraction, isolation, and characterization of natural compounds from herbal sources.
- Develop and optimize analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS) for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of ingredients and finished products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including formulation scientists, quality control, regulatory affairs, and product development.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature, regulatory guidelines, and industry trends related to natural products and dietary supplements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for new ingredients and product formulations.
- Provide scientific support for product claims and marketing materials.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant industry standards.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in natural product chemistry, including extraction, isolation, and structural elucidation.
- Expertise in various analytical techniques (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR).
- Strong understanding of botanical ingredients, herbal medicine, and dietary supplements.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for dietary supplements (e.g., FDA, GMP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-doctoral experience in natural product research.
- Experience with large-scale natural product processing or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of bioavailability and pharmacokinetics of natural compounds.
- Publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Experience with project management in an R&D setting.
