Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Trailer Loader with a strong focus on loading bay operations to join our team in Coventry. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely loading and unloading of goods from trailers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all health and safety regulations. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth flow of our logistics operations, contributing to our commitment to excellent service. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from trailers using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, pump trucks, or forklifts if certified).
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests and other documentation.
- Organize and store goods within the loading bay according to company procedures.
- Perform pre-use checks on equipment and report any defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized loading bay environment.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, team leaders, and other warehouse staff.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a warehouse or loading bay environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for checking documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a pump truck or electric pallet truck.
- Valid Forklift (Counterbalance or Reach) license and experience.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- First Aid certification.
