Job Description
Join ModivCare as a Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver, where you’ll play a crucial role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for individuals needing assistance to and from medical appointments. This role offers flexible shifts, allowing you to create a schedule that fits your life while making a meaningful impact in your community. You will be responsible for transporting passengers in a professional and timely manner, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport passengers to medical appointments and other designated locations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and de-boarding vehicles, including those with mobility challenges or using wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment within the transport vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation logs, passenger manifests, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with passengers, their caregivers, and medical staff.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure timely arrival at pick-up and destination points.
Required Skills
- Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate demeanor
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
- Ability to operate a GPS and navigate efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in non-emergency medical transportation or a related field
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Knowledge of local geography in the Pasco County area
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
