Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Stairwell Sweeper & Mopper to join our facilities team in Slough. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of commercial building stairwells, ensuring a pleasant environment for all occupants and visitors. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to perform physically demanding tasks consistently. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sweeping and mopping of all designated stairwells, landings, and common areas within commercial buildings.
  • Empty and clean waste bins and dispose of rubbish in appropriate receptacles.
  • Dust and wipe down railings, ledges, and other surfaces.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards observed during cleaning.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company cleaning protocols.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve high standards of cleanliness.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including prolonged standing, bending, lifting (up to 20kg), sweeping, and mopping.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage (training provided if necessary).
  • Good communication skills to report issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices in a workplace environment.
