Job Description

Are you passionate about the nuances of language and possess an exceptional ear for detail? Amazon is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Speech Synthesis Evaluator to join our innovative AI team. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality and naturalness of our speech synthesis technology. You will be responsible for listening to vast amounts of synthesized speech data, identifying subtle imperfections, errors, and areas for improvement, and providing precise feedback to our engineering and research teams. This position requires high levels of concentration, an acute auditory perception, and a commitment to delivering world-class voice experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Rigorously listen to synthesized speech output and identify errors related to pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, and naturalness.
  • Accurately transcribe spoken content and highlight discrepancies between intended and actual speech output.
  • Categorize and annotate identified speech errors with high precision using internal tools.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback to improve speech synthesis models.
  • Collaborate with linguists, engineers, and researchers to understand project goals and deliver targeted evaluations.
  • Maintain a high standard of data quality and consistency throughout the evaluation process.
  • Participate in calibration sessions to ensure alignment with team standards.
