Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Engineer (Tier 3) to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is crucial for resolving complex technical issues, providing advanced support to our customers, and mentoring junior support staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of web hosting technologies, domain management, and cloud services. This position is open to candidates requiring sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level technical support for complex customer inquiries and critical incidents related to web hosting, domain services, email, and security products.
  • Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to escalate and resolve bugs, system outages, and product enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and internal processes.
  • Mentor and train Tier 1 and Tier 2 support engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response and emergency support.
  • Contribute to the improvement of support tools, processes, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with customers regarding issue status and resolution.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a technical support role, with at least 2 years at a Tier 2 or Tier 3 level.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line interfaces.
  • Extensive experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx) and database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, CDN).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PHP) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with various control panels (cPanel, Plesk) and CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, LPIC, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and incident management best practices.
  • Previous experience in a role supporting SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
