Job Description
We are seeking a highly compassionate and skilled Pediatric Nurse to join our vibrant team in a children’s hospital environment. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of young patients and their families. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, monitor patient responses, and manage IV access.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication administration, and discharge instructions.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret laboratory results, and report changes in patient condition to the medical team.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
- Respond to emergencies, provide immediate life-saving interventions as needed, and assist with procedures.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, adhering to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with pediatric nursing best practices.
Required Skills
- Active RN license in California
- BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing (acute care setting preferred)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) credential
- Experience in a specialized pediatric unit (e.g., PICU, NICU, Oncology)
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish)
