Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Bus Cargo Loader to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient and secure loading and unloading of passenger luggage and various cargo onto and from our buses. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, shift-based environment. You will be an integral part of ensuring our passengers’ journeys are smooth and their belongings are handled with care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload passenger luggage, parcels, and other cargo from buses.
- Organize and stow items efficiently within bus cargo compartments, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, dollies) as needed.
- Verify cargo manifests and ensure accurate handling of all items.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and transportation regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at the bus terminal.
- Communicate effectively with bus operators, supervisors, and other team members.
- Work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for shift work.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or cargo handling role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to cargo handling.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
