Job Description
Are you looking for a hands-on role with immediate start and weekly pay? Pickfords in Manchester is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Movers / General Labourers. No previous experience in removals is required – we provide full training for the right candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career with a leading logistics company, working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a supportive team, contributing to the smooth and efficient relocation of homes and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload furniture, boxes, and other items onto and off removal vehicles.
- Carefully pack and unpack belongings, ensuring their protection during transit.
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as required.
- Operate specialist equipment safely (after training), such as trolleys, lifting straps, and ramps.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, both in the warehouse and on client sites.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to lift and move heavy items.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (Category B or C1).
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Basic knowledge of manual handling techniques (training provided if not).
