Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver a diverse range of age-appropriate activities and games, including arts and crafts, sports, and educational play.
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children attending the club at all times, adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Supervise children during free play, structured activities, and snack times.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff.
- Manage attendance records, necessary paperwork, and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day.
- Lead and mentor junior staff or volunteers within the club, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating club environment.
Required Skills
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for planning and leading engaging activities.
- Reliability, patience, and a responsible approach to child supervision.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including First Aid and Safeguarding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience, formal or informal, in a childcare, educational, or youth setting.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare, youth work, education, or a related field (e.g., Level 2/3 in Playwork, Early Years, Teaching Assistant).
- Knowledge of relevant child safeguarding regulations and best practices.
- Specialised skills such as sports coaching, music, or art.
