Job Description

We are seeking a highly innovative and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join our dynamic Product Innovation team in New Port Richey, Florida. This role is crucial for developing groundbreaking new products and improving existing ones across our diverse portfolio. The successful candidate will lead complex research projects from concept to commercialization, applying deep scientific expertise and a passion for consumer-centric innovation. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ideation, design, and execution of complex research projects focused on new product development and existing product optimization.
  • Develop and validate novel ingredients, formulations, and processes to enhance product quality, nutrition, and sensory attributes.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques and scientific methodologies to characterize ingredients and products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to ensure successful project execution and market launch.
  • Mentor junior scientists and actively contribute to building a strong culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, scientific literature, and consumer trends to identify new opportunities for innovation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in R&D, product development, or applied research within the food and beverage industry.
  • Proven track record of successful product innovation and commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and processing technologies.
  • Proficiency in experimental design (DOE), statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sensory science principles and consumer insights integration.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property processes and patent development.
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading small scientific teams.
  • Familiarity with clean label ingredients and sustainable product development practices.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or presentations at scientific conferences.
