Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Public Restroom Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and supplies of our public facilities in Avalon. This role is crucial for ensuring a pleasant experience for all visitors and residents of Catalina Island. The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and committed to upholding high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Regularly inspect, clean, and sanitize public restrooms throughout designated areas, ensuring a high standard of hygiene.
- Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other essential supplies consistently.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners promptly and efficiently.
- Monitor facility conditions and report any maintenance issues or damage to supervisors immediately.
- Ensure all surfaces, including floors, sinks, and toilets, are clean, dry, and free of debris.
- Maintain a welcoming and presentable environment for all guests, contributing to a positive island experience.
- Interact politely and professionally with visitors, responding to inquiries or requests as needed.
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and sanitation regulations and guidelines.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in all cleaning duties.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for guest interactions.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a custodial, housekeeping, or attendant role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with tourist destinations or high-traffic public facilities.
- A positive, service-oriented attitude and strong initiative.
- Ability to anticipate needs and proactively address potential issues.
