Job Description
Join Marathon Petroleum as a Fuel Delivery Driver based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a vital local tanker role responsible for the safe and timely transportation of petroleum products to various customer sites. We are looking for experienced drivers with a strong commitment to safety and a clean driving record. You’ll be part of a team that prides itself on reliability and professional service, with opportunities for a safety bonus based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tanker trucks for the delivery of fuel products to commercial and retail locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment according to company and DOT regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS).
- Load and unload petroleum products safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain accurate logs, manifests, and delivery records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and initiatives.
- Represent Marathon Petroleum professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Hazmat Endorsement
- Tanker Endorsement
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in fuel delivery or hazardous materials transportation
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Familiarity with Indianapolis and surrounding Indiana delivery routes
- Strong mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle checks
