Job Description

BrightStar Care of Pearland is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) for in-home care. This unique role offers a structured career path for those aspiring to become Registered Nurses, providing invaluable hands-on experience and support towards your educational goals. As an In-Home PCA, you will provide essential personal care, companionship, and support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence and a higher quality of life. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to enter the healthcare field and grow professionally within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Provide light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders as directed by care plan.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities and companionship to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Observe and report any changes in client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized client environment.
- Document care services provided accurately and timely.
- Adhere to all BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and BrightStar Care team members.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and personal care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional).
- Enrollment in a nursing assistant or nursing program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of basic first aid.
