Job Description
Are you a responsible 13-year-old looking for a way to earn some pocket money and help your community? The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester is excited to launch our ‘Neighbors & Friends Plant Watering Service’! We’re seeking enthusiastic and reliable teens to help local residents keep their plants healthy and vibrant. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain your first work experience, learn about horticulture, and make a positive impact right in your neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit assigned homes within your local Rochester community.
- Water indoor and outdoor plants according to specific instructions provided by homeowners.
- Monitor plant health and report any concerns to homeowners (e.g., wilting, pests).
- Ensure plants receive appropriate amounts of water without over or under-watering.
- Maintain a friendly and respectful demeanor with all neighbors.
- Keep accurate records of visits and watering schedules.
- Communicate effectively with program coordinators and homeowners regarding availability and tasks.
Required Skills
- Must be 13 years old.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Reliable and punctual.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to walk to various homes in your local area (within safe walking distance).
- Genuine interest in helping others and contributing to the community.
Preferred Qualifications
