Job Description

The Grounds Guys of Kitchener is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Outdoor Wood Maintenance Specialist, focusing on oiling and staining. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in restoring and preserving the beauty of outdoor wood structures. As an Outdoor Wood Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the preparation, oiling, and staining of various outdoor wood elements such as decks, fences, pergolas, and outdoor furniture. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the curb appeal and longevity of our clients’ properties, ensuring their outdoor spaces remain stunning and well-protected against the elements. We value reliability, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare wood surfaces for treatment, including cleaning, sanding, and minor repairs.
- Apply oiling and staining products according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Ensure consistent and even application for a professional finish.
- Protect surrounding areas from stains and spills during application.
- Maintain and clean all tools and equipment used in the process.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines on job sites.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status and any issues.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients on-site.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in outdoor wood maintenance, painting, or similar roles.
- Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record.
