Job Description

Stantec is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Remote Environmental Compliance Reviewer. This is an incredible opportunity for someone eager to learn, as we provide comprehensive, full training from day one. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring projects adhere to environmental regulations, contributing to sustainable practices across various sectors. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in Canada while being a part of our dynamic Calgary-based team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review environmental permits, reports, and compliance documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform data entry and manage information within compliance tracking systems.
  • Conduct research on environmental regulations and best practices relevant to ongoing projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams to gather necessary information and clarify details.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and escalate issues to senior reviewers as needed.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance expertise.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new software and environmental regulations quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations (e.g., provincial, federal acts).
  • Experience with data management or database systems.
  • Previous remote work experience.
