Job Description
Join Schneider as a Local CDL-A Driver in Wichita, KS, and enjoy the predictability of being home daily! This position offers a fantastic opportunity for experienced drivers to earn a consistent $1,500 weekly guarantee while operating within a dedicated local area. You’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing exceptional service to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (Class A) in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer, documenting any defects.
- Transport freight between specified locations within the local service area of Wichita, KS.
- Ensure on-time delivery and pick-up of goods while adhering to scheduled routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delays or issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Represent Schneider professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- 24 months of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- HazMat and Tanker endorsements (not required, but a plus)
