Job Description
Join Purolator as a Drivers Mate/Porter, a vital role in our logistics team based in Victoria, BC. You will work closely with our professional drivers, assisting with the loading, unloading, and safe delivery of parcels and freight to various locations. This role requires early starts, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of parcels and freight.
- Help navigate routes and ensure timely deliveries to customers.
- Verify product counts and condition against delivery manifests.
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and collections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support delivery operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly (up to 70 lbs).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with an excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for manifest verification.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse, or similar physical role.
- Knowledge of Victoria and surrounding areas.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) is an asset, though not required for this specific role.
- Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks.
