Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Part-time Woodwind Instructor specializing in Flute and Clarinet to join our distinguished faculty. This role involves providing exceptional one-on-one and group instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels within our community music program. The ideal candidate will inspire musical growth, foster technical proficiency, and cultivate a deep appreciation for music in all students. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert individual and group instruction in flute and clarinet.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to student needs and goals.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and examinations.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and school administration.
  • Participate in student recitals and departmental meetings as required.
  • Stay current with best practices in woodwind pedagogy and performance.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience teaching flute and clarinet to diverse age groups.
  • Exceptional performance skills on both flute and clarinet.
  • Strong pedagogical knowledge and ability to adapt teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching within a university or established music school setting.
  • Proven track record of student success in competitions, auditions, or performances.
  • Proficiency in additional woodwind instruments.
  • Active professional performance career.
