Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all aspects of the phlebotomy training program, including classroom instruction and supervised clinical practice.
- Learn and master proper venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques for patients of all ages, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Accurately identify patients, label specimens, and complete necessary documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the blood collection process.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies.
- Collaborate with nursing and laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and accurate test results.
