Job Description
Join XPO Logistics, a leader in global supply chain solutions, as a Forklift Operator. We are seeking dedicated and safety-conscious individuals to join our dynamic team in Kansas City, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse and distribution center. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of freight and adherence to safety protocols.
- Transport goods to and from storage areas, loading docks, and production lines efficiently.
- Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance (e.g., battery checks) on forklifts to ensure operational readiness.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including manual lifting and stacking of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) occasionally and perform physical tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to attendance.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels, inventory counts, and completing documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Prior experience in a high-volume logistics or distribution center environment.
- Ability to operate multiple types of material handling equipment beyond forklifts (e.g., pallet jacks, order pickers).
