Job Description

Join CVS Health as an LTC Pharmacy Technician, where you’ll play a vital role in providing essential medication services to long-term care facilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to focus on precision and accuracy in a structured environment, without the direct customer interaction typical of retail pharmacy roles. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring that long-term care patients receive their prescriptions reliably and on time. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret and process prescription orders for long-term care patients.
  • Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding, labeling, and packaging, in accordance with established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of pharmaceutical supplies and medications, assisting with ordering and stock rotation.
  • Utilize pharmacy management software to input and retrieve patient and prescription information.
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacists to ensure prescription accuracy and patient safety.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Manage medication returns and disposals as per regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations and terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ year) in a long-term care pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or high-volume closed-door pharmacy setting.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation systems.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations pertaining to pharmacy practice.
