Job Description
Join CVS Health as an LTC Pharmacy Technician, where you’ll play a vital role in providing essential medication services to long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring that long-term care patients receive their prescriptions reliably and on time. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret and process prescription orders for long-term care patients.
- Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding, labeling, and packaging, in accordance with established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate inventory of pharmaceutical supplies and medications, assisting with ordering and stock rotation.
- Utilize pharmacy management software to input and retrieve patient and prescription information.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists to ensure prescription accuracy and patient safety.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Manage medication returns and disposals as per regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, structured environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations and terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a long-term care pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or high-volume closed-door pharmacy setting.
- Experience with pharmacy automation systems.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations pertaining to pharmacy practice.
