Job Description

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Nursing Aide (HCA Trainee) – Hospital Based. This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience and professional training within a dynamic hospital environment. No prior healthcare experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this vital role. As a HCA Trainee, you will work closely with our experienced nursing staff, providing essential support to patients and contributing to a positive and healing environment. This full-time position is based within one of our leading hospitals in Halifax, offering a direct path to a fulfilling career in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Support patients with their emotional and social needs, providing companionship and comfort.
- Assist nurses with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Document care provided accurately and timely in patient records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate actively in all required training and professional development sessions.
