Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated R&D Scientist to join our dynamic Pharmaceutical Research team in Greensboro, NC. This role is crucial for advancing our drug discovery and development pipeline. The successful candidate will design, execute, and interpret complex experiments to contribute to the identification of novel therapeutic targets, optimize drug candidates, and understand disease mechanisms. You will work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and scientific expertise to drive impactful research projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments to investigate novel biological mechanisms and evaluate potential drug candidates.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate assays for high-throughput screening and compound profiling.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present complex scientific data to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of R&D projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including medicinal chemistry, in vivo pharmacology, and toxicology.
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory records and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of scientific literature and emerging technologies in relevant therapeutic areas.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field, or a Master's degree with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in pharmaceutical R&D.
  • Strong expertise in cell biology, molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western Blot, ELISA), and biochemical assays.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel) and statistical methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and troubleshoot complex scientific experiments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present scientific findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to scientific rigor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with drug discovery platforms, including target identification and validation.
  • Familiarity with in vitro and in vivo models of disease.
  • Knowledge of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics principles.
  • Track record of scientific publications or patent contributions.
