Job Description
GardaWorld is seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Trainee Port Security Officers for a critical government facility in Lévis, Quebec. This entry-level position is ideal for those passionate about public safety and national security, offering comprehensive training to equip you with the skills required to protect vital port operations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining order, monitoring access points, and responding to security incidents within a dynamic port environment. We offer a structured training program designed to develop your expertise in port security protocols, emergency response, and critical asset protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all required training programs and certifications.
- Learn and apply port security regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the port perimeter and designated areas.
- Control access to the government facility, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors.
- Respond effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, following established protocols.
- Report all security breaches, suspicious activities, and incidents accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a professional and vigilant presence to deter unauthorized access and activities.
- Collaborate with senior security officers, law enforcement, and emergency services as required.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances and certifications.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Clean criminal record and no serious infractions.
- Valid driver's license (an asset for patrols).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement (even if unofficial).
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset.
- Knowledge of maritime security regulations (e.g., ISPS Code).
