Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented individual looking to contribute to a diverse range of challenging projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, infrastructure, and more. The role is open to international candidates, and we offer support for LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) and Skilled Worker Visa processes for eligible applicants. You will be instrumental in designing innovative and sustainable structural solutions, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for various building types and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, and specifications using relevant software and codes.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical information.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in structural engineering design across diverse materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry).
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Robot Structural Analysis).
  • Strong understanding of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience working on UK-based projects or projects adhering to UK standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
  • Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit Structures).
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles.
