Job Description
Join FedEx as a High-Value Electronics Hauler with a focus on team driving. In this critical role, you and your partner will be responsible for the secure and timely transportation of sensitive and high-value electronic goods across long distances. This position demands a high level of professionalism, adherence to strict security protocols, and exceptional driving skills. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring the integrity and safety of crucial shipments, representing FedEx’s commitment to reliability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles in a team driving environment, ensuring continuous movement and on-time delivery of high-value electronics.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) requirements.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and cargo, reporting any issues promptly.
- Implement and maintain strict security protocols for high-value cargo, including secure parking, regular checks, and immediate reporting of suspicious activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and security personnel regarding shipment status, routes, and potential delays.
- Safely load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securing and handling of sensitive electronics.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer interior.
- Represent FedEx professionally to clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Experience in team driving operations
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong understanding and adherence to DOT regulations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to security protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- HAZMAT endorsement
- Experience transporting high-value or sensitive cargo
- Prior experience with refrigerated or climate-controlled freight
- Familiarity with advanced security systems and procedures
- Defensive driving course certification
