Job Description
Join A Touch of Class Painting for an exciting summer opportunity as a Painter Assistant. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in residential painting, contribute to a professional team, and learn valuable skills in a dynamic environment. You will be instrumental in preparing job sites, assisting experienced painters, and ensuring a clean and safe workspace. This temporary summer position offers a chance to work outdoors, learn a trade, and be part of a team that takes pride in its work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead painters with surface preparation, including washing, scraping, sanding, and caulking.
- Help with setting up and taking down ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment.
- Protect furniture, flooring, and other surfaces with drop cloths and masking tape.
- Clean tools, brushes, and work areas at the end of each day.
- Support painters by fetching supplies and ensuring they have necessary materials.
- Perform light manual labor and maintain a tidy job site.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at various heights on ladders and scaffolding.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manual labor or construction is a plus, but not required.
