Job Description

Are you passionate about pets and looking for a flexible, rewarding part-time opportunity right in your neighborhood? Rover is seeking dedicated and compassionate Weekend Dog Sitters in Boise, Idaho. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals, enjoy being outdoors, and want a low-stress way to earn extra income by providing exceptional care to dogs while their owners are away. Focus on building relationships with local pet parents and their furry companions, providing walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of love.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide loving and attentive care to dogs in their own homes or your pet-friendly home (as agreed with pet parents).
  • Conduct regular dog walks, ensuring safety and exercise for the dogs.
  • Administer food and water according to pet parent instructions.
  • Engage in playtime and provide companionship.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for the pets.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with pet parents, providing updates and photos.
  • Follow all specific instructions provided by pet parents regarding their dog's routine, diet, and behavior.
  • Ensure the security of the pet parent's home during house sitting visits.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love and compassion for animals.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
  • Comfortable walking dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with dog sitting, pet fostering, or animal care.
  • Knowledge of basic dog behavior and common breeds.
  • Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
  • A flexible schedule, particularly on weekends.
