Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Freight Handler to join our early morning shift team in Wesley Chapel, FL. This role is critical to our operations, involving the efficient and safe movement of freight within our warehouse. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning freight, ensuring packages are handled with care and processed accurately for onward distribution. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight by hand or using material handling equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided if needed).
- Sort, scan, and stage freight according to destination and product type.
- Verify freight counts and check for damages, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate in compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, as well as DOT regulations.
- Participate in daily team briefings and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks (bending, stooping, walking, standing for long periods).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and counts.
- Reliable transportation to arrive at the facility by 4:00 AM.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all operational guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- High School Diploma or GED.
