Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Research grant opportunities and funding sources relevant to Mission Australia's programs and strategic priorities.
  • Assist in the preparation, writing, and submission of grant proposals, applications, and reports, ensuring adherence to funder guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with program managers and other team members to gather necessary information, data, and stories for applications.
  • Maintain an organised system for tracking grant applications, deadlines, and reporting requirements using relevant databases or software.
  • Proofread and meticulously edit grant documents for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and overall adherence to quality standards.
  • Support the development of compelling narratives, project descriptions, and detailed budget justifications.
  • Ensure all submissions comply with funder requirements, internal policies, and ethical guidelines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of grant writing processes and resources.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities to identify suitable funding opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with virtual collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively in a remote environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all written materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Non-profit Management, or a related field.
