Job Description
Are you 16 years old, energetic, and looking for a way to earn money while staying active in your local Sacramento community? DoorDash is seeking enthusiastic Delivery Runners to join our team! This entry-level role is perfect for teens eager to gain valuable work experience, develop time management skills, and contribute to a fast-paced delivery service. You’ll use your own bike to pick up and deliver orders, becoming a vital link between local restaurants and hungry customers. No prior experience is necessary – we’re looking for reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Navigate assigned local areas of Sacramento efficiently using your personal bicycle.
- Pick up food orders from various restaurants and ensure accuracy before departure.
- Deliver orders promptly and courteously to customers, maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with customers and DoorDash support as needed.
- Manage delivery times to ensure customer satisfaction and hot/fresh food delivery.
- Handle minor issues or delays professionally and report them to relevant support channels.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Own a functional bicycle and demonstrate proficiency in riding it safely.
- Ability to use a smartphone for navigation and order management (DoorDash app).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with local Sacramento streets and neighborhoods (or willingness to learn quickly).
