Job Description
Join UPS as a Rickshaw Driver for our City Center Logistics team in Rockville, Maryland! As a Rickshaw Driver, you will be a vital part of our commitment to sustainable urban logistics, ensuring timely and safe delivery of packages while navigating the vibrant city streets. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company-provided electric-assist rickshaw safely and efficiently to deliver packages to customers within the designated Rockville city center area.
- Navigate urban streets, pedestrian zones, and bike lanes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload packages accurately and securely, ensuring proper handling and protection of goods.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor during all interactions.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate any delivery issues or delays promptly.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the rickshaw and report any maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
- Represent UPS professionally in the community, upholding company standards and values.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (or equivalent state ID for background verification purposes).
- Ability to operate a multi-geared rickshaw for extended periods, including significant physical exertion.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with urban environments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High level of safety consciousness and adherence to traffic laws.
