Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Shift Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a secure facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This critical role involves supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care during overnight hours. You will be instrumental in the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, managing inventory, and ensuring all operations comply with stringent regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain meticulous patient profiles and medication records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Process insurance claims and resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and adheres to all safety and sanitation protocols.
- Assist pharmacists in identifying and resolving medication-related issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to healthcare professionals and patients, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
Required Skills
- Active Indiana Pharmacy Technician registration/certification in good standing.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during night shifts.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and pharmacy management software.
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, calculations, and drug classifications.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- National certification (e.g., PTCB – Pharmacy Technician Certification Board).
- Prior experience working in a hospital or secure facility pharmacy setting.
- Experience with automated dispensing systems.
- Advanced knowledge of sterile compounding techniques (if applicable to facility needs).
