Job Description

The Société de transport de Sherbrooke (STS) is offering a unique opportunity for aspiring individuals to become a professional Bus Driver. No prior experience is required, as we are committed to investing in your future by paying for your Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) licence training. This is a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with all the necessary skills and qualifications to safely and confidently operate a public transit bus.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete all required training modules for the PCV licence.
- Learn and adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Practice safe and defensive driving techniques under supervision.
- Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, including assistance with boarding and alighting.
- Learn to operate accessibility features for passengers with disabilities.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and operations control.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Handle passenger inquiries and resolve minor issues professionally.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Commitment to safety and public service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Customer-service oriented attitude.
- Ability to pass a background check and medical examination.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Sherbrooke area.
