Job Description
Join Schneider National as an Immediate Hire Class A driver. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals holding a Class A CDL to kickstart their career with a leading transportation company. After completing our comprehensive orientation program, you will immediately begin earning, transporting goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. We value dedication and a commitment to safety, and we provide the support and resources needed for you to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport goods to and from specified locations, adhering to scheduled delivery times.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and other necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, when applicable.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle (preferred, but training available).
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tanker (N) or Hazmat (H) endorsements.
- Experience with various types of freight and equipment.
- Prior experience using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
