Job Description
Join the Nordstrom team as a Stock Controller in our dynamic retail warehouse located in Georgetown, Washington D.C. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring smooth operations, and supporting our sales floor. You will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and dispatching merchandise, contributing to an efficient and well-stocked retail environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming and outgoing stock, including receiving, unpacking, and checking deliveries against purchase orders.
- Organize and maintain the retail warehouse and stockroom, ensuring items are stored safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate stock records.
- Prepare merchandise for the sales floor, including tagging, security wrapping, and transferring items as needed.
- Assist with visual merchandising and store display changes by providing necessary stock.
- Operate essential warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Collaborate with sales associates and management to ensure stock availability and address customer needs.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to stock management, safety, and security.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or a retail warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Nordstrom's internal inventory systems.
- Forklift certification or experience with other warehouse machinery.
- Previous experience in a luxury retail environment.
