Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sound Designer with a focus on video games and media to join our creative audio team. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting immersive soundscapes, dynamic sound effects, and compelling audio experiences that elevate our games and media projects. You will work closely with game designers, artists, and engineers to define and implement audio features, ensuring the highest quality sonic integration. Key Responsibilities
- Design, create, and implement high-quality sound effects for various in-game events, character abilities, UI, and environmental elements.
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to integrate audio assets effectively into game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and proprietary tools.
- Perform audio mixing and mastering to ensure a balanced and dynamic sound experience across all platforms and outputs.
- Maintain consistency in audio aesthetics and technical quality throughout projects.
- Participate in creative discussions and provide constructive feedback on audio and game features.
- Manage and organize sound effect libraries and project assets.
- Troubleshoot and debug audio issues during development.
- Stay current with industry trends, audio technologies, and best practices in sound design.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, or Reaper.
- Strong understanding of sound design principles, acoustics, and audio mixing techniques.
- Experience with audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD).
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing exceptional sound design for video games or interactive media.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Sound Design, or a related field.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python) for audio integration.
- Familiarity with game development pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git).
- Passion for video games and an understanding of interactive storytelling.
- Music composition or production skills are a plus.
