Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Affairs Chemist with a strong focus on global compliance to join our dynamic team in Brooklyn, NY. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our chemical products and processes comply with an evolving landscape of international regulatory requirements. You will work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and legal teams to guide product development from conception through market launch, ensuring all chemical components meet global standards for safety, efficacy, and environmental impact. This role requires a meticulous professional with deep expertise in chemical regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to risk assessment and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory dossiers (e.g., registrations, notifications, amendments) for chemical components and finished products in various global markets.
  • Interpret and apply complex global chemical regulations (e.g., REACH, GHS, TSCA, K-REACH, C-REACH, EU BPR) to product development and existing portfolio management.
  • Provide expert regulatory guidance and strategic input to R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams on new product formulations and changes to existing products.
  • Conduct comprehensive regulatory assessments of raw materials, intermediates, and final products to ensure compliance with relevant chemical regulations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate changes in global chemical legislation and industry standards, assessing their impact on company products and operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement robust regulatory strategies and compliance programs.
  • Represent the company in discussions with regulatory authorities and industry associations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date regulatory documentation and databases.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in regulatory affairs within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or consumer health industry with a strong focus on chemical regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of global chemical regulations (e.g., REACH, GHS, TSCA, K-REACH, C-REACH, EU BPR).
  • Proven experience in preparing and submitting regulatory dossiers for chemical products.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Regulatory Affairs (e.g., RAC).
  • Experience with specific regional chemical regulations relevant to emerging markets.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in a regulatory context.
  • Proficiency with regulatory information management systems.
