Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and diligent Part-time Maintenance Hand to support the upkeep of a school facility primarily on weekends. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, faculty, and visitors during school events and activities. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of maintenance tasks, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine light maintenance tasks, including minor repairs to fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown for weekend events, moving tables, chairs, and other equipment as required.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for occupants.
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests during weekend operating hours.
  • Support the custodial team with basic cleaning duties when necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing duties.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, minor plumbing fixes, simple carpentry).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and precautions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a school or commercial facility maintenance role.
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools.
  • A valid driver's license.
