Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Part-time Maintenance Hand to support the upkeep of a school facility primarily on weekends. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, faculty, and visitors during school events and activities. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of maintenance tasks, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and repair.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine light maintenance tasks, including minor repairs to fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for weekend events, moving tables, chairs, and other equipment as required.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for occupants.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests during weekend operating hours.
- Support the custodial team with basic cleaning duties when necessary.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing duties.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, minor plumbing fixes, simple carpentry).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and precautions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a school or commercial facility maintenance role.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools.
- A valid driver's license.
