Job Description
Are you passionate about technology and eager to kickstart your career in IT? Telstra is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals for an Entry Level Remote Support Technician role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with no prior professional IT experience to join a leading company, receive comprehensive training, and develop essential technical support skills. You will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing remote assistance to resolve technical issues and ensure a seamless service experience. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home anywhere in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and chat for Telstra's products and services.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues for customers.
- Guide customers through problem-solving steps and provide clear, concise instructions.
- Escalate complex issues to senior support teams when necessary.
- Document all customer interactions and resolutions accurately in our ticketing system.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and empathetic service.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and common applications.
- Familiarity with internet connectivity and common home networking setups.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing environments.
- A dedicated, quiet workspace suitable for remote work.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Legally able to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed or currently pursuing a certificate or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- Previous customer service experience (any industry).
- Experience using remote desktop software.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems.
- Any relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+).
