Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Exhibition Centre Porter to join our busy operations team at P&J Live. This role is crucial for the smooth running of our diverse range of events, from setup to breakdown. You will be responsible for moving equipment, assisting exhibitors and visitors, and ensuring the venue is always presented to the highest standards. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent physical stamina, and are a dedicated team player, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently move and set up furniture, equipment, staging, and other event materials as per event specifications.
  • Assist exhibitors with loading and unloading materials, and provide support with their setup needs.
  • Ensure all public and back-of-house areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained before, during, and after events.
  • Operate manual handling equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., pallet trucks, trolleys).
  • Support the technical and operations teams with general event logistics and problem-solving.
  • Respond promptly to requests from event organisers, staff, and visitors.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and venue policies.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks as required to ensure venue readiness.

  • Strong physical fitness and stamina for manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within events, hospitality, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in an event environment.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
